The many anecdotal treatments for Rosacea seem to be becoming more common each day. These unproven treatments serve to confuse even the most motivated, sincere, and intelligent patient or Dermatologist. I believe that we all need to keep it simple and not complicate our lives by using too many treatments at one time. Clinical experience and good judgment require that each individual’s skin condition first be analyzed, and then treated and evaluated. Since every patient is unique, each patient needs to see an experienced, compassionate Dermatologist to have his or her specific needs and treatment discussed.

There is much that we do not as yet know about Rosacea. However, there is so much more that we are able to do to help patients with Rosacea that it is important that each patient utilizes the full spectrum of proven successful remedies before beginning the frequently fruitless and perilous quest for the miraculous cure-alls that only serve to enrich the “snake oil” sales people at the expense of the patients.

The “false hype” and the needless vicious criticism that is frequently present on the web may merely be the same thing; self-serving statements designed to promote one’s own product(s) or to criticize the competition. Anonymity can have its benefits and disadvantages. My name, experience, and reputation are well known. I hope that you will benefit from my experience treating Rosacea patients over the past 30 years.
